What started out as a goal to raise $75,000 to build 75 homes in Bangalore, India turned into a city-building project. Donations are now nearing $1 million toward Homes Of Hope. Our representative, Bill Martin, left for Bangalore yesterday to lay the groundwork for the building project with Pastor Paul Billy Arnold. 1/17/05 --
1/14/05 --
The total has now risen above $786,000 - that's 786 homes to be built to tsunami survivors in southern India!! Where we wanted to build some "homes of hope", God wanted to build a city! 1/13/05 -- Our goal was certainly not big enough.... Before Ben & Vin even went on the air, the original goal of $75,000 was nearly met. By the time the special broadcast ended, nearly ten times the original goal had been committed to building these homes... !! The count as of 1:30pm is $733,000 = 733 homes! 1/11/05 -- Every time we raise $1000 for Homes of Hope, it means a new home for a family in India who is homeless because of the Tsunami. Now, because of a generous gift from a Christian Foundation, for every home you help raise the money to build, they will build another home. And they will do this for the first 75 homes we raise the money to build. That means we have the opportunity to build at least 150 homes, or more! |
