Visit NoPerformanceTax.orgSince the beginning of radio, broadcasters and music performers have enjoyed a mutually-beneficial relationship. Broadcasters play music for free, while performers and record labels get free airplay. From this free airplay, the recording industry enjoys increased popularity, visibility, and album sales. Congress is threatening to disrupt this relationship by imposing a new “performance fee” on broadcasters to play music on the air. This new fee will hurt local radio stations throughout the country and threaten the ability of small broadcasters and non profits to provide service to their listeners- especially at a time like now with the economy in shambles. If you value your favorite music on the radio, please contact your Senators and Congressman now to oppose the "Performance Rights Act."
